Everyday's the Same [Live]

It's interesting how when I had all the time in the world to write songs and make music, it was the last thing I would spend my time doing. Something about the luxury of time didn't sit well with my creative juices at this juncture.
What can I say that hasn’t yet been said
Can’t find a thing, so I might as well stay in bed
Well, who would listen anyway?
So I lie here thinking everyday’s the same

I called you up and you said to come downtown
That won’t be easy ‘cause I’ve got commitments now
Even though I’m not getting anywhere
I can’t risk leaving while everyday’s the same

My time is filled with all my hot desire
But there’s no ambition to step into the fire
I feel so 9-to-5, maybe I should take a drive
But this everyday is still alive, everyday revived

So here I am at the grindstone again
Growing duller as I detach from where I am
I’ve got my thoughts all stored away
For a time when there’s no everyday to blame

Oh well, it’s just another day
But if something out there should ever change
I’ll be right here in my everyday staying the same
