John Foltz: listen
Yours Truly [Live]

Ah, back to the good-ol' breakup song. I thought I was going to marry this girl, who shall remain nameless. Of course, I was too young to know what that meant, I guess. I was also too young to realize that this song would probably not make it on the radio such that she could hear it and identify herself in the lyric. However, I've got a sneaking suspicion she's heard the song. Whether or not she knows it's her is beyond my knowledge, but let's just say it wouldn't take a MENSA member to figure it out. And really, seriously, with no hint of disdain, there are REALLY no hard feelings. It's been WAY too long for that.
Today I signed the letter that I wrote a week ago
Instead of ‘forever yours’, ‘yours truly’
And that was all I wrote
I signed it and sent it off, I hope it finds you well, dear
In your big, important world
Whether or not you care for me
Yours truly, I signed it with my pain
Yours truly, and I left out my name
In case it doesn’t reach you, listen to the radio
You’ll hear it from the one you left behind
I’ll sing it note for note
So tune it in and turn it up, you can never escape from me
In your small and lightless world
Wherever you look, you’ll see me there
Yours truly, I signed it with my pain
Yours truly, and I left out my name
Yours truly, in case it doesn’t reach you
I send this song to you from yours truly
I’m only human, I can’t make you see your mistake
You’re only human, you might not see it anyway
But if you listen as you drive away from me
You’ll know the voice you hear is
Yours truly, I signed it with my pain
Yours truly, and I left out my name
Yours truly, in case it doesn’t reach you
I send this song to you from yours truly
